Hectic TImings…

I know there hasn’t been many updates to this blog or on the forum, I do apologize for that.  Fortunately for me, my financial business is starting to pick up greatly.  Unfortunately that means I don’t get as much time to work on this project.

If you’ve been registering on the forums and wondering why your account isn’t active, it’s because I’m not activating accounts right now.  I’m looking for a forum solution that will help stop the massive amount of spam that builds up.  If that means I have to build one from scratch, then so be it.  I may do that anyways to add in core SEO.

Anyways, I figure I’d at least give you guys a notice about what is going on and why no updates have happened in a long while.

Wiki has been added!

Since we are starting to get some notice, we decided to put the wiki back up.  I’m going to try and find some time soon to get some spec pages put in.  While doing that, I am also going to brush up on my X11 and shell programming.  I want to start getting something setup.  I’ll probably get a Google Code repo setup or just use the SVN repo I already have on Dreamhost.

Hope to see you guys on the forum/wiki!

Another change…moved to BASH!!!

Alright, I know I keep moving around on things, but I swear I’m making progress!!  This time, instead of working on the kernel itself, I’m just going to build a system using LFS (Linux From Scratch) and build a shell in it.  I’m running through the BASH 4.0 code to figure out how to do things.  I’ll adjust my scripts so that instead of calling the login program on boot, it calls the shell instead.  I know, could cause problems, but hey, we can’t have solutions without problems right?

Anyways, I’ll install a Wiki on a subdomain soon and start tabbing out the specs and what I wish to accomplish.  I’ll see if I can link the wp_users and mediawiki login together to simplifiy things.  No need having 2 logins for one site right?

I’ll also start pulling stuff from other sites (giving credit where credit is due) and requesting comments and what not.  For all those visiting, please leave comments and let me know your opinions.

Updated blog, new focus

I’ve updated the blog from 2.5 to 2.7.  I’ve also changed the focus of development.  Instead of trying to build from the ground up and increase dev time by an unneeded factor of a conservative 1000x, I’m going to use the linux kernel as a starting point and build a bash replacement.

With nVidia and AMD getting closer and closer to open source drivers, it is going to be easier to make them pure kernel mode drivers and abuse them without the need for X11.

Maybe later switch over to a 100% custom solution when we start using neural packs and isolinear chips and integrating with warp cores.  But when that happens, we will probably be dead.

Any ways, on to development! I’ll create a google code spot to host the core files.

See you in the future!
