LCARS OS Development Blog

I have begun work on a new blogging platform to replace WordPress.  It will be taking up much of my time.  I will probably be posting more on my other blog than this one for now.  However, I will be using this one as a test bed for some of the more advanced plugins for it.

The new blog will be entirely RoR based.  This will be a challenge but I know I can do it.  I will add a wiki and forum section at that time as well as a SVN viewer plugin.  Or rather I will try.

Finally updated the site to latest version of WordPress and added a few other features.  SMS Text Messaging is the better of the 2 and I have removed all ads on the site.  I never liked ads to begin with.

Ill revist some old LCARS sites and start gathering information and placing it all into a forum and editible wiki.  I really want to make this a community project instead of a personal hobby.

Sorry, sorry, sorry.  I have been much busier than I last thought.  I need to do many upgrades to this site and get development going again.  I have reactived parts of the Google Apps section, partialy because Dreamhost provides some easy tools for setting it all up.

I’ll post more on that later.  Hopefully in the next few days and not months like it has been.  I really am serious about developing a LCARS system and will even put what money I have to the cause.  In the next 6 month I plan on getting a touch screen test environment using one of the DIY projects out there.  As progress moves on, I will have videos of it working.

This has already been a multi year project for me.  I expect it to take many more to get it to a very usible state.

Things have been a bit lax of late.  I have been busy getting a business up and running and building this kind of OS takes a termondous amount of time and devotion.  Rest assured, this will happen.  Right now, I need to focus else where.  I will set the forums back up with a few area so that conversations can start up again.

so long?  Geesh, I got side track and this is an open source project so….shit happens.  I just upgrade the blog to the 2.5 code base to keep it in line with my personal blog.  I should be getting back into the development aspect of it soon since I am not doing that for a living any more.  Switched to financial servcies and love it so much more.

Anyway, just wanted to post something to show some activity.
